As the number of options for after school enrichment programs has grown, a need has arisen to develop safety protocols, both for on site programs and for programs that pick up and bring children to locations in the neighborhood. For the safety of all children, pickup representatives for each after school program must report to the PS130 school offices at each building at 2:15pm each school day to receive/check absence reports so that they can confirm who will be picked up that day. Programs must also continually provide up to date lists of authorized staff. Pick up representatives must then pick children up from their classrooms at 2:30 –programs will not be allowed to pick-up from the school yard. This policy was designed by the administration and the PTA to minimize confusion that can occur in the school yard when programs are picking up multiple children and there is a risk that children could be picked up by the wrong program or left behind. Children are picked up from the classrooms as the class is packing up and getting ready to go downstairs to the school yard for general pick up.

* Wingspan Arts, Camp Olympia, Brooklyn Children’s Theatre and Impact Coaching Network are affiliated with the PS 130 PTA. All other programs are independent of the PS 130 PTA.
