FAMILY SUPPORT FUNDRAISER





Right now, we are all reeling from the events of the last few weeks and concerned about the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Families are holding loved ones close and balancing overwhelming demands, while finding ways to hold our community together while our beloved school buildings remain shuttered. While we do not yet know all the costs that this crisis will have on each of us, we do know there will be significant ones—physical, emotional, and financial—affecting us all in different ways.

As this crisis unfolds, our PTA is mobilizing to support vulnerable members within our community. We have established the PS 130 One Family Emergency Fund, a giving program that allows you to make tax-deductible donations to ensure that families in crisis have access to essential supplies. 100% of donations go directly to purchase groceries that families in need have requested, such as milk, eggs, diapers, and cleaning supplies.

This new fund is modeled after our successful Holiday Gift Drive, which provides much-needed items to as many as 100 students each year. School leadership will identify families in dire need of support, and participating families will remain anonymous. To aid in this effort, we’ve partnered with local grocery store Windsor Farms, which has agreed to deliver groceries to participating families.

As a Title I school, we are an economically diverse community that includes families who before this crisis faced challenges in meeting their day-to-day needs. Today, these families face even greater challenges, and the number of families experiencing illness or disruptions to their livelihood is also growing.
